আমরা সূতি কাপড় কিনতে গেলে প্রায়ই
দোকানীকে জিজ্ঞেস করে থাকি। কিন্তু সম সময় দোকানীরা আমাদেরকে সঠিক তথ্য দেয় না।
কেমন হয় যদি কাউকে জিজ্ঞেস না করেই আপনি নিজে নিজেই খুব সহজেই শুধু মাত্র হাত দিয়ে
ধরেই বুঝতে পারবেন যে কোন কাপড় কটন বা সূতি কিনা?
১ম পদ্ধতিঃ
৩য় পদ্ধতিঃ
এই পরীক্ষাটি মূলত ব্যবসায়ীদের জন্য। কাপড়ের কোন একটু অংশ নিয়ে আগুন দিয়ে পুড়িয়ে দিতে হবে। পুড়ার পর যদি শুধুমাত্র ছাই অবশিষ্ট থাকে তাহলে এটি কটন বা সুতি কাপড়। আর যদি ছাই কিছুটা আঠালো বা দূর্গন্ধযুক্ত হয় তাহলে বুঝতে হবে এটি সুতি কাপড় নয়।

কোন কাপড় কটন বা সূতি কি না তা জানার জন্য আজকে আমরা
তিনটি পদ্ধতি জানবো।
১ম পদ্ধতিঃ
প্রথমে
কাপড়টিকে হাত দিয়ে ধরে এর কিছু অংশ মুচড়ে ছেড়ে দিন। ছেড়ে দেওয়ার পর যদি দেখা যায়
কোন ভাঁজ পড়েনি ও কাপড়টি আগের অবস্থায় ফিরে এসেছে তাহলে এই কাপড়টি সূতি নয়। আর যদি
দেখা যায় যে ভাঁজ পড়ে গেছে ও জপড়া অবস্থা
বজায় রয়েছে তাহলে বুঝতে হবে এটি কটন বা
সূতি কাপড়।
পিউর
কটন বা সূতি কাপড়ের কাঁচামাল তথা সূতার ইলাস্টিসিটি বা স্থিতিস্থাপকতা খুবই কম ফলে
এটিতে ভাঁজ পড়লে সহজে ভাঁজহীন অবস্থায় ফিরে আসে না।
২য় পদ্ধতিঃ
কাপড়ের
খোলা অংশ হতে ছোট্ট করে দৈর্ঘ ও প্রস্থ বরাবর ১ টি করে সূতা বের করে নিন।
সুটাগুলোকে আলাদা ভাবে টেনে ছেড়ার চেষ্টা করুন। যদি সূতি হয় তাহলে এক টানেই ছিড়ে
যাবে ও লম্বা হতে থাকবে না। কারণ পলিয়েস্টার সূতা টানলে ছিড়ে না গিয়ে লম্বা হতে
থাকে।
সুতি
সূতা এক টানে ছেড়ার কারণ হচ্ছে এর আঁশ ১-১.৫ ইঞ্চি লম্বা হয় এবং তা পকিয়ে লম্বা
সুতায় রূপান্তর করা হয়। অপরদিকে পলিয়েস্টার সূতার ফাইবার অনেক লম্বা লম্বা হয় ফলে
টান দিলে ছিড়ে না গিয়ে লম্বা হতে থাকে।
এই পরীক্ষাটি মূলত ব্যবসায়ীদের জন্য। কাপড়ের কোন একটু অংশ নিয়ে আগুন দিয়ে পুড়িয়ে দিতে হবে। পুড়ার পর যদি শুধুমাত্র ছাই অবশিষ্ট থাকে তাহলে এটি কটন বা সুতি কাপড়। আর যদি ছাই কিছুটা আঠালো বা দূর্গন্ধযুক্ত হয় তাহলে বুঝতে হবে এটি সুতি কাপড় নয়।
